About Gallery 11
Gallery 11 is owned and operated by Evan Levin, a local artist and entrepreneur. The gallery will be used to show Evan’s work, as well as work by other local and regional artists. Gallery 11’s emphasis will be to encourage artists to experiment by providing a forum that is open to more progressive work while also embracing more traditional forms of fine art, such as, landscapes, still life, abstract and sculpture. The gallery will host multiple shows a year that will range from paintings and sculpture to more experimental types of installation art. “I would like to help foster a lively growth of the downtown art scene by providing a place for local artists to show their work and is receptive to exploring and extending the boundaries of art.” Evan Levin explains, “I want to present work to the public that might not be available in other galleries around Pensacola.” He added that the gallery would be receptive to getting involved in downtown events, as well as supporting and creating public arts projects. Evan Levin grew up in Pensacola. After graduating high school, he attended Ringling School of Art and Design where he majored in illustration and received his BFA in 2002. Over the past several years, Evan has continued to paint and show his work in various galleries around Pensacola. He will oversee the gallery and continue to develop his finely crafted paintings of surreal worlds and characters. Gallery 11 is located in the heart of downtown Pensacola with 740 sq.ft. of exhibition space with an additional 588 sq.ft. that can be incorporated for special events.
